Making a Difference
We all know that helping others and giving back to the community are good reasons to volunteer. But did you know that by volunteering, you can also gain substantial personal, physical and emotional benefits?
Numerous scientific studies of the effects of volunteering have reached the same conclusions: people of all ages who volunteered were overall happier, experienced less depression, and were in better physical health than their peers who did not engage in volunteer work.
JCS has numerous volunteer opportunities available. Training and support are provided.
Current Volunteer Needs
Caring adults needed to help children with school work and help job seekers build computer skills.
Volunteers needed to make regular friendly phone calls to reduce the isolation of older adults and individuals with developmental disabilities.
English/Russian speaking translators are needed to assist JCS clients.
