Mental Health First Aid

Mental Health First Aid (MFHA) teaches you how to help someone who is developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis. The training will help you identify, understand, and respond to signs of addictions and mental illnesses.

This course is appropriate for anyone who interacts regularly with the public, including first responders, librarians, educators, and other helping professionals.

 

Upon successful completion* of this course, participants will:

  • Recognize signs of mental health or substance use challenges in adults ages 18 and older
  • Have the skills necessary to respond to an individual showing signs of mental health or substance use challenges
  • Be prepared to provide initial assistance and guide a person toward appropriate care, if necessary
  • Be eligible to take the final quiz and receive 3-year certification as a Mental Health First Aid Responder

There is no cost to attend this session. Deadline to register is April 5.

*Requires pre-course assignments be completed through the online MFHA Connect portal at least 24 hours prior to this session. After registering for this session using the link below, participants will receive an email invitation from MHFA Connect with instructions for creating their account and completing the self-paced assignments.

Social workers and other clinicians attending this program will receive 6.0 Category I CEUs.
