Mindful Art with a Purpose

You don’t have to be an artist to create something meaningful.
June 22 & 29, July 6 & 13
2:00 – 3:00 pm via Zoom
Participants must commit to attend all virtual sessions for continuity.
In this 4-part series, participants are encouraged to experiment with different means of creative self-expression.
- Drawing – Draw your hands to show the way you have traveled from where you started to where you are now to where you are going.
- Painting – Consider how color affects your mood and emotion. What do colors mean in art? How do you see and apply them? What specific colors speak to you?
- Something Precious – Sometimes our possessions or environment blend into everyday life and get overlooked in their real value or meaning. Pick a possession in your home that you are willing to share and tell the group why it is precious to you. Is it something you can then draw or interpret with color?
- A Postcard – Picture yourself where you want to be, doing something that you really want to do. Where are you? What does the scene look like? Now put that moment on a postcard, maybe a bit oversized. This is your dream to illustrate in any way that you envision it. Think about sending it to yourself sometime in the future. You can even send it to your subconscious and let it find a place to rest until you are ready.
No experience or talent is necessary, just bring a desire to get creative.
Workshop and art supplies are free.
